One Lens Film Festival Makes Its Official Selections For 2014

LOS ANGELES – The 3rd Annual One Lens Film Festival announces its official selection of short films for the 2014 line-up. The one night festival will consist of six short films that highlight the human experience.

The 2014 One Lens Film Festival Official Selections Are:

LOVE ESCAPES US (USA)

Director: Craig Tovey

Producer: Edwin Walker, Iman Milner, Anthony B. Phillips, Craig Tovey

Synopsis: A compelling tale of the cycle of love and heartbreak as told through the experiences of two people who fall in love during the wrong season.

 

MAKING IT IN AMERICA (USA)

Director: Joris Debeij

Producer: Joris Debeij

Synopsis: Alma is a single mother. When she was 16 she had to leave her country, El Salvador, cause of a civil war. Her dreams of going to school were gone. She is now starting a new life and trying to enable the dreams of her daughters.

 

ONLY LIGHT (USA)

Director: Evita M. Castine

Synopsis: When a young girl is kidnapped from the Congo and sold as a sex worker to the U.S., she finds an escape from reality by watching a teenage girl next door.

 

POUR RETOURNER (Canada)

Director: Scooter Corkle

Producer: Daniel Domachowski

Synopsis: A talented prison chef with the respect of his fellow inmates is paroled to a world that does not want him. He struggles to secure a job with a vindictive former coworker, who treats him like human garbage. Pushed to his breaking point, the chef must take drastic action to restore his equilibrium.

 

STAND (USA)

Director: Melanie D’Andrea

Producer: Natalie Mirskey, Tierney Young

Synopsis: Through Krump, one dance crew takes a stand against the poverty and crime plaguing South Los Angeles.

 

THE STORY OF MILO & ANNIE (USA)

Director: Harris Doran

Producer: Dani Faith Leonard

Synopsis: a love story about Annie, a restless secretary, who tries to discover the mystery of Milo, a guy who hasn’t spoken since he was six years old.

 

Official selections are eligible for the 3rd Annual One Lens Film Festival winner’s circle that will be determined by a Jury of esteemed entertainment executives. The 2014 Jury includes;
